The most popular type of infant formula is the powdered variety. Powder baby formula has many advantages. First of all, it is economical when compared to the liquid and ready-to-feed varieties. In some areas the pediatrician will advise parents to use tap water rather than purified or boiled water. The powder is mixed with a certain amount of water as directed on package instructions. Then the bottle is warmed by placing it in a pan of hot water until the desired temperature is reached.

Powder baby formula can be purchased at supermarkets, drugstores, discount stores and baby supply stores. It ranges in price from around $10 to $30 per can. Generic brands can save you money, so can buying in bulk. You are sure to appreciate the convenience and ease of buying, storing and using powdered formula.
